Starting Anew
Moving has
been an eye opening experience for me; I never knew how much peace I took from
being able to shop at my routine stores, or walk the places I love. Overall,
I think the hardest thing about moving has been the lack of emotional ties to
my new home, and then still having to be a leader and anchor for my family as I worked through these struggles.
As a mother, my goal in this move was to keep my cool and help my family smoothly, and happily transition. But I quickly found it was not easy. My first day moved I was simply overwhelmed. It finally settled in that this was my new home and yet it felt nothing like home to me. As I struggled this scripture came to my mind, "... let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed" (D&C 123: 17). Before this point I had prayed daily for patience and help from my Heavenly Father, here was an answer to my prayers. That scripture filled me up with hope and courage to keep going.
As time has passed I have been blessed to see the arm of the Lord and the mercies of moving. Here are a few:

As time has passed I have been blessed to see the arm of the Lord and the mercies of moving. Here are a few:
-My
relationship with my husband, daughter, and God mean so much to me. I know now
that leaning on them is more important than leaning on temporal familiarities.
-I have a
clean slate to start new habits and overcome old weaknesses.
-God answers
prayers through people who heed Him no matter where I am.
-Friends
come quickly as I truly value the aid and love of those around me.
I am happy where I am. I can do hard things, and I can help my family do hard things. This is an amazing opportunity to stretch myself in ways I never have before, and from it I believe I am being made into a better mother, wife, and disciple of Christ. As I exercise faith, I know I can magnify the work God has for me and for my family to do here.
